Shelby Firth

Shelby was called to the Ontario Bar in 2025 after completing her articles and summering with Burrison Hudani Doris LLP.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024 with a specialization in Litigation, Dispute Resolution, and the Administration of Justice. During her studies, she was awarded the Albert Weisbrot Q.C. Prize for achieving the highest standing in an advanced family law course. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Business (with Distinction) from the University of Waterloo.

During law school, Shelby gained extensive advocacy and dispute resolution experience. She participated in the Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition, received the Distinguished Oralist award in the Lerner’s Cup Mooting Competition, and completed a placement with the Osgoode Mediation Clinical Program, where she mediated disputes at Small Claims Courts across the GTA.

Shelby also became deeply involved in access to justice initiatives during law school. She volunteered with Luke’s Place (a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting women and children navigating the family law process), served as Vice-President of the Osgoode Hall Family Law Association, and acted as Senior Director of Operations at Fair Change (a student-run, lawyer-supervised pro bono poverty law legal clinic) and assisted with the preparation of Fair Change’s Charter Challenge that was successfully argued before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
